Mend It Girl Starch

I have made an easy-to-make starch that saves money!  I don't like to use store bought starch because it has formaldehyde in it, and I don't want to be using a dangerous product on my customers' clothing.  Also the can gets clogged with dried-up starch and is expensive in comparison to my homemade recipe.

I have a helper this time:

Side-Kick

Ingredients:

1 Tbs. cornstarch

4 cups of distilled water

2-3 drops of essential oil and/or lemon juice

Directions:

Bring 3 3/4 cups of the distilled water to a boil.

While waiting for the water to boil, mix up the corn starch and 1/4 cup water until cornstarch is dissolved.

Once the water has boiled, slowly pour in cornstarch mixture.

Now stir for about 3 minutes and then turn heat off and wait for it to cool.

Then add the essential oils. I used vanilla, orange, lavender, and lemon juice.

Pour in a labeled squirt bottle...

Look how great this homemade starch works!  Fresh smelling, crisp clean clothing!
